Apperception Tests, 2011
Ongoing photo series, in-progress
Apperception is the process by which new information is synthesized into the whole of one's existing knowledge. Thematic Apperception Tests, like Rorschach tests, are projective psychological tests. They ask subjects to interpret pictures by telling a story as a means of uncovering the underlying dynamics of personality, motivations, and unconscious drives and desires. Apperception Tests is an ongoing series that incorporates a variety of subject matter and references as an open-ended dialogue with the viewer, asking for a collaborative production of narrative.
